Landfill Gas Facility

The facility captures the gas that would otherwise go into the atmosphere, eliminating greenhouse gasses that are harmful to the environment. The natural gas generated is turned into energy and sold back to the power grid. The landfill provides the plant with gas to fuel three engines that produce approx. 37.8 million kWh of energy. This reduces greenhouse gas emissions by 59 million pounds of carbon dioxide by avoiding the use of fossil fuels.
