New County Brochure Advances Global Campaign

Economic Development

by The Authority

Cumberland County Improvement Authority (CCIA) officials want decision makers who are considering relocating or expanding their business in our county to say “YES.” That’s why the CCIA’s campaign, which targets CEOs, site locators, commercial realtors and development executives worldwide is titled the CumberlandYES campaign.

“The first of several marketing communications planned for the campaign is our brochure that is now available and being distributed to interested prospects,” CCIA Economic Development Director Jim Watson announced. The CumberlandYES brochure includes four titled subsections, which Watson says, emphasize the reasons why decision makers should consider Cumberland County as their location to do business.  The section titles are: Strategically Positioned for Business, A Great Quality of Life, Quality Workforce Initiatives and Exceptional Financial Incentives.

Watson says these are the key factors on the lists of company owners or developers world-wide who consider a site in the Northeastern United States. “They’re able to check off YES to all of these requirements because they’re here in our County,” he said.

Jerry Velazquez, CCIA Executive Director said, “We’re here to help existing businesses further develop and to attract new businesses to our county.” He added, “Greater economic development creates more employment opportunities, stimulates higher wages and grows a larger contributing tax base for the area.”

Velazquez also points to the fact that the Improvement Authority returns more than $550,000 annually to taxpayers though its management of shared resources and services, project development as well as direct contributions back to the county. Marketing, he says, is just one of the many services provided to the County by the CCIA.

The main objective of this newest campaign as seen in the recently published brochure, according to Velazquez, is to market Cumberland County on a global scale. “We have secured the website URL for CumberlandYES.com and that site will be launched in a few months,” Velazquez explained, “We’ll be using advanced digital marketing techniques to promote all of our features and benefits over the internet to reach CEOs and key decision makers everywhere.”

Watson says that the CumberlandYES message in the new campaign underscores that the CCIA has a “can do” attitude and “we absolutely can” mentality. “The YES, Your Economic Solution campaign emphasizes Cumberland County’s eagerness and willingness to work diligently with these decision makers when they are considering doing business here. It affirms we work with everyone including our local, state and federal agencies to get them everything they might need to come here and, more importantly, to grow here.”
