CCIA Statement on COVID-19

Good Afternoon,

We’d like to take a moment to address the status of the COVID-19 outbreak.

We want to assure you that we have been closely monitoring the rapidly evolving situation and are implementing our own precautionary measures to ensure the health, safety and wellbeing of our staff and our communities. The CCIA has implemented these practical steps to mitigate risks in our workplace for staff and clients:

  • 100% of our administrative staff have the ability to work remotely
  • When working remotely, our team members use a secure, virtual private network (VPN) which provides an identical environment and the same access as being in the office
  • Meetings and travel have been made virtual with teleconferencing
  • Business continuity plans have been activated
  • Best-in-class infrastructure and data safeguards in use with back-ups every 15 minutes

All CCIA offices will remain open. However, given the increasingly restrictive environment, changing guidance, and concern over public gatherings risking community spread, we felt it prudent to postpone all upcoming events and meetings through the end of April. We will continue to monitor the situation closely and will make future determinations based upon guidance and directives provided by Federal, State and County Healthcare officials.

To protect our employees and to help mitigate the spread of Coronavirus Disease (COVID-19) in our communities, effective immediately, the CCIA is suspending all routine face-to-face services with the public at our Lebanon Road offices, which will include Deerfield residents permit registration.

The CCIA Solid Waste Complex is an essential service and as such, will continue normal operations until directed otherwise.

Education and precautions are the strongest tools against infection. Get the latest facts by visiting the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s COVID-19 website. Continue to practice good health habits, refrain from handshakes or hugs as greetings, and clean hands and surfaces appropriately.

In addition, the State of New Jersey established a resource for businesses and guidance for employers impacted by the COVID-19 outbreak. We encourage you to review all materials accessible here.

Also check local health department sites:

We encourage all to review the CDC’s guidance Steps to Prevent Illness.

Thank you for your understanding at this critical time – Stay well.

Very truly yours,

Gerard Velazquez, III President and CEO
